Shivapuri day hike starts early in the morning at 7:30, after breakfast, we will drive from the center of Kathmandu to Kopan Monastery. After reaching the Kapan Monastery we will start our day hike. From a gradual climb up from the Kapan Monastery pine forest and walking through the Tamang Village, we will reach the Nagi Gumba. Nagi Gumba is especially for the girls and ladies located in a quiet place in the middle of the Jungle. Nagi Gumba is the only monastery where nuns can practice Buddhism and a place that foreigners often visit for meditation. After observing Nagi Gumba we will hike uphill until we reach the Shivapuri Peak 8,963 feet (2,732 meters). We can observe the Hindu Holy place called Bhagh Dwar which is the main source of the Bagmati River. The Bagmati River is a very Holy source in Hinduism as they believe if the Bagmati River water is spilled on the dead body then their soul is believed to be free in heaven according to the Hindu Culture. For the Lunch, we will have a Pack lunch/Hot Lunch on the top of Shivapuri Peak.

In this Shivapuri day hike, we can explore and see the various wildlife like Musk deer, Tiger, Bear, Wild Boar, Monkey, Colorful birds, different species of flora, and fauna during the hike. From the Shivapuri top, we can see the mesmerizing views of many Himalayan ranges like Langtang ranges, Jugal range, and Ganesh Himal range. We can observe the breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley, Bhaktapur valley, Nuwakot, and Patan Valley. While returning we will hike down the same route and we can also hike to either Sundarijal or Budhanilkantha (Sleeping God Vishnu Temple). After arriving at our endpoint we will drop you in your designated hotel here in Kathmandu.
