Save the Himalaya trash cleaning campaign

Preserving the mountain ecosystem will save the home of rare and endangered animals like Red Panda, Snow Leopard, and Musk Deer. It will also preserve rare plants like Golden Michelia, Spikenard, Panch Aule, and Cordyceps. The project will encourage local communities to practice sustainable approaches and make less impact on nature. The project will play a vital role in preserving the mountain ecosystem to combat global climate change. Save Himalaya Campaign Cleaning Up National Parks Of Nepal Save Himalaya project preserves the mountain ecosystem of Nepal by working with people residing in the buffer zone of national parks. The project aims to clean the trekking trails and the base camp of 14 mountains above 8000 meters. The garbage collected from the cleaning campaign is recycled at the local level and used to make handicraft products.

The project focuses on cleaning the trekking trails of the following national parks:

4:Gaurishankar National Park

5:Langtang National Park

6:Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park

7:Manaslu National Park

8:Annapurna Conservation Area Project

9:Shey Phoksundo National Park

10:Rara National Park

11:Khaptad National Park

12:Api Nampa Conservation Area

Save Himalaya Campaign The project has initiated its activities in the Shivapuri national park on August 15th, 2020. During the 1 week campaign, 10 mountain guides collected 150Kg non-degradable waste from the park. The waste was sent to the metropolitan dumping site in Makwanpur. The project is actively participating in more mountain guides and volunteers to clean the trekking trails and destinations. The project is funded by various organizations and individuals throughout the globe.
